A retreat series that provides the opportunity to spend an evening tuning in to the liturgical seasons of the church though music.
The second event in this retreat series will feature a discussion and music for Advent and Christmas. The event will begin with the sharing of food and conversation followed by prayer with the Norbertine Community. We will then have an interactive 45-minute presentation featuring a discussion, questions/answers, and songs on Advent/Christmas led by a Norbertine oblate Dr. Joseph Sandoval. He will offer a deeper understanding of Mary, Joseph, and the Magi. We continue the evening with Music Director Rachael Baca leading interactive instruction in learning how to sing/play the music to a set list of songs appropriate for liturgies and other prayer services of the Advent and Christmas seasons. We will also have an open sharing time to allow for the emerging of the stories and songs that inspire us in the season. Associate Director of the Norbertine Spirituality Center Linda Sepulveda will serve as master of ceremonies. .
If you are a musician feel free to bring your instrument. Bringing an instrument, or even being a musician, is not required to attend.
